Twitter and all these echo chambers are not representative of reality, the vast sum of these respectable members will not touch twitter for the reason being its qashin and a human cesspool as it virtually runs on who can get the most points for outrage in a pit of who can emulate the other. Not all of these boys are “gangsters” neither are all these girls “promiscuous or loose” but if we continue as a community to judge these kids for crimes they haven’t personally committed then we will fall into a self fulfilling prophecy.

House prices in London are absolutely ridiculous, 600,000 pounds would get you a 2 bedroom flat in London. In suburban cities in America like Minneapolis and Columbus, that would get you a 5 bedroom mansion with a swimming pool if your lucky. You’re comparing a tiny cramped city with 8 million inhabitants to small cities in America with tons of space lmao, how can you even compare the two. Secondly the US economy is far stronger than the UK (furthermore this is not linked to the question but for a lesson in currency exchange not every currency has the same amount example £50,000 being far more than the $70,000 Canadian dollars you listed, this would confer to around £40,000), a factor you should also take into account is debt, the debt Americans are riddled with after University are astronomical and some struggle to pay it off in their lives. In addition the UK are far more lax in the fact that you are given nearly 30 days plus off the year while in the US you are given zero holidays and work 50-70 hours a week.

My paki friend who has a position at Microsoft works 40 hrs, but spends only like 30 at the office.
But he also does some minimal work when not there during weekends.

Depends on if you have family, a combined income of 60,000 can easily satisfy your needs. You can easily find a flat for around the 1000 a month mark easily but they won’t be great. At the 35k to the 45k you feel things getting easier as you can do what you want to do but not necessarily live too frugally. For me I would say 50k would be the most comfortable mark and above that if you’re living by yourself. 60k would be far more than enough for good housing in zone 2 and 3.
