The seal of the King of Majeerteenia, used blue ink, and inside was a white star. The man who created the flag, Mohamed Cawaale Liibaan, was from that Kingdom, and a member of the nationalist party, SYL.

Somalia should change its flag when it gets back on its feet to rebrand and signal the new era of peace and prosperity. This new generation hasn’t witnessed anything positive under that flag and the previous generations witnessed a short lived era of peace until all hell broke loose.

The majerteen back then referred to their land as the "أرض الأمان" “Urdu-el-Aman” and I remember I saw this emblem from the 2000s “nabdo iyo nolol” which is kinda adorable how people thought to use a term that their ancestors used years ago.

The features of flag matter less than wat the flag stands for. Everything our flag stands for is about somalinimo

Imo I believe we need a red banner with a white star. Red symbolising the turmoil and bloodshed and white symbolising the peace and harmonious future we wish to achieve.
