  • Researchers performed a detailed analysis of the DNA of ancient mummies
  • They found that ancient Egyptians were closely related to European populations
  • Traditional communities in the Levant and Neolithic Europe were close relatives
  • Study found that modern Egyptians share more ancestry with Sub-Saharan Africans than ancient Egyptians did

The first ever full-genome analysis of Ancient Egyptians shows they were more Turkish and European than African.

Scientists analysed ancient DNA from Egyptian mummies dating from 1400 BC to 400 AD and discovered they shared genes with people from the Mediterranean.

They found that ancient Egyptians were closely related to ancient populations in the Levant - now modern day Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Israel and Lebanon.

They were also genetically similar to Neolithic populations from the Anatolian Peninsula and Europe.

The groundbreaking study used recent advances in DNA sequencing techniques to undertake a closer examination of mummy genetics than ever before.

It's also said that many ethnicities in east africa (including Somalis) have ancient admixture >3000 years , originating from the neolithic levant. I wonder what made them migrate back into Africa.

It was more fertile back then, and when the Nile started drying up, we went south.

The Ancient Egyptians were Horners. :birdman:

Jokes aside, don't fall for it. Theyre clearly whitewashing the history.

"They found that ancient Egyptians were closely related to ancient populations in the Levant - now modern day Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Israel and Lebanon."

Horners have around 40-50 % ancient levant admixture. So... :manny:

:chrisfreshhah: These Cadaan's never seem to give up trying to claim Ancient Egypt

This quote from the comments section sums up the article nicely.

"Turkish??? In 1400 to 400 BC??? What a joke! This article was interesting untill I came across the word Turkish in that period of era in human history. Get your facts straight. You could use modern day Turkey or Capadocia instead. Stop spreading false information"

So the Babylon story is true? Apparently Cushites founded it.

Everyone remembers the famous Ancient Egyptian rulers Skincanceramses, Melanomahotep and Queen Nefertiffany.

Yes since the admixture found in Horners is atleast 700-800 BC .
What's the Bablyon Story? Post it if you have a chance

The admixture is much much older than that. Except for Ethiosemites where it's much more recent Arabian admixture.

The more recent admixture of the Ethiosemites your talking about is in the bold.
calculated ROLLOFF admixture dates ranging between 2,000 and 3,000 years ago. Pickrell et al. [17] calculated ALDER admixture date estimates for these populations between about 2,500 and 3,500 years ago, with some experiencing secondary admixture between 100 and 300 years ago.Across the entire set of reference populations that we used, our ROLLOFF estimates range from

Across the entire set of reference populations that we used, our ROLLOFF estimates range from 2,200 to 4,700 years ago, and our single-admixture ALDER estimates are somewhat younger, ranging from 1,000 to 4,300 years ago (Table 1). Following Pickrell et al. [17], we compared the fit of single and dual admixture histories from ALDER in HOA populations and found, in agreement with their results, strong evidence for two admixture events in the Amhara and Oromo (Table 1).

cadaans and Somalis are alike in some ways... both have this delusion and superiority complex that they would go above and beyond to insert themselves in everything. there is no way in hell modern cadaans had anything to do with ancient Egyptians, even if ancient Egyptians had nothing to do with sub-Saharan Africans. the weather in most of Africa is not in anyway suited to their pigskin, they need a bottle of sunscreen to even spend few hours outside let alone build a civilisation in Africa.

Nah mate, I'm just embarrassed by Somalis who claim ancient Egypt with a straight face. either this is some long running joke or we are on par with the cadaans for the 'We wuz kangs' delusions:manny:

That's too recent a few 2-3 thousand years ago was in the tail-end of Egyptian civilisation. Any Eurasian admixture would've occurred before or during the Neolithic Farming Revolution which was 8-10,000 bp.

Also what's with the Sardinian, Tuscan etc? Are they saying our eurasian ancestry matches those populations?
