What happened was disheartening to say the least. look at this. Even livestock couldn't pass against the currents.
Gedo admin need to place in more larger dikes and flood walls. The safety of the people has to be priority number one.

This definitely is a recurring issue, how much do you think the solution you provided would cost?
It depends really, in areas similar to this in the US it costs a wide range from millions to billions. Most projects in Gedo are diaspora n community funded. The man sitting in the kursi in Kismayo doesn't split the money with the regions equally.
If I had to estimate I'd say.
Depending on the height, lengths, slope, designs etc. the average costs range for a city if this size would be 25$ for one of these
This would provide the most adequate protection against floods. Protecting people, livestock, and crops.
I want to study how the Netherlands deal with such a problem to make the best choices regarding flood protection. After that I will send my ideas to relatives back home inshallah, they can secure the funding and start the project.
