I think that is too simplistic. Remember, they went to war after Tuur tried to join Caydiid and thus close the door on ictiraaf. Cigaal was very shrewd, he saw the writing on the wall, many of them did. They knew they would never get ictiraaf but it was a necessary measure. Why do you think @Itsnotthateasy is avoiding this thread like the plague. He knows it’s the truth and he doesn’t want to see it spoken in public. He will come in here and deflect as usual. @DR OSMAN Needs to see reality too, instead of babbling on incoherently about unstructured nonsense in his mind.SNM goal is to free from kacaan and be part of Somalia.
Ictraaf shit started because of caydiid HAG.
Sad honestly. Long ago in the 90s/2000s Somaliland was the richest and most powerful Somali state in the Horn (Djibouti wasn't Ethiopia's main trade partner yet, SSC was a joke and Puntland was busy with internal issues and with Somalia). They wasted their leverage and golden opportunity and the result now is a Puntland that caught up economically and militarily, a formidable SSC and a trade rival in Djibouti who snatched that Ethiopian lacaag.
Basically their one track mind regarding seeking recognition made them ignore doing important development and staying competitive. Why isn't there a major road from Borama/Awdal to Ethiopia yet? Why doesn't Awdal have its own major port? These are important because countries around the world will almost always pay attention to nations that are richer and more developed than their neighbor. Puntland is the opposite, they are doing everything Somaliland should be doing like a second port in Garacad and an important roar connecting that port to Jigjiga.
It was never going to happen and I did mention the long-term identity issue it causes. It explains why a certain user posts endlessly about recognition, because it feeds his identity. It makes him feel good when people push back. Before anyone else points this out, you could do the same with all Somalis. Just start with identity and it’ll show you part of the issue is there is no felt ‘Somali’ identity. I would argue even that isn’t enough, that your identity be based on belief in Allah because Allah is permanent and thus your identity will always be permanent. Qabil, regional even Somali identity can be reinterpreted and change, but Allah obviously cannot because he is beyond the temporal system of change. Thus, your identity will always be grounded and you won’t have an existential crisis when something eventually changes. It may have been genius initially but its clear they botched their chance a long time ago
There is a shared Somali identity but not in a political or civic sense. Somali identity is defined by a common culture and feeling. It existed before Somalia and will exist even if Somalia disappears. You are spot on about Islamic identity however.is there is no felt ‘Somali’ identity
I am not suggesting leaving behind Somalinimo, not at all, just that your anchor shouldn’t even be that, it should be Allah. Somalinimo may change over time, and it may reinterpreted. Tawhid and the indivisibility of god makes it so that you will always be on solid footing that can never slip out from under you. That is better than anything else you’ll find. There is a shared Somali identity but not in a political or civic sense. Somali identity is defined by a common culture and feeling. It existed before Somalia and will exist even if Somalia disappears. You are spot on about Islamic identity however.
At 1991 SNM went to xamar before creating SL, Caydiid refuse to share power with them, then SNM start to clean caydiid militants north west Somalia and announce SL.I think that is too simplistic. Exactly, incoherent deflections from a child.Who is going to bother arguing against this malicious fabrication? All you did was false cause fallacy. Somaliland is looking for recognition to prevent war? That's some nonsense you just made up. At least have the decency to quote an academic or scholar or have some kind of research behind your assertions. You just threw this together in a fit of rage it seems.

(Next up: if you don't engage it then it must be true fallacy)

You are like an infinite loop caught in a web of its own lies, going around in circles forever. Perhaps someday bots like you can become human. It doesn’t seem like it though.![]()
You are just a political agitator who emerged from the ether probably during LA war like many others of your kind and you will return to ether you came from lol and life will go on.

Agree to disagree is fine, but only if there is no objective truth that you believe in.Okay lets just agree to disagree.

Why is ironically the right question, but you never ask the ultimate ‘why’, why are any of us here? You are stuck in ‘what’ and ’how’. What are you, how do you gain ‘ictiraaf’, etc. but you miss that all that matters is why.Why are you still arguing?
