Somalia managed to rebuilt its economy and infastructure with next to no foreign investment or aid. Today Somalia has an extremely robust private sector with some of the most advanced telecom and fintech industries in the continent. That is mad impressive. Aside from that there are also other things like Somalia getting debt relief, having a rapid urbanization and electrification rate, and Somaliland and Puntland having lower poverty rates than plenty of African countries.

I do agree he's very negative. some people overestimate Ethiopia's power over Somalia, when in reality it's American and their african footsoldiers.
