Both sectors were systematically dismantled:

• External trade was severed.
• Internal trade was choked off by the proliferation of roadblocks (Isbaaro), which inhibited movement within the Core and between the Core and the Periphery.
• Agriculture, the engine of rural wealth, was deliberately destroyed—replaced by food aid dependency that undermines local production and market structures.

Thus, Somalia has been rendered economically inert not through neglect, but by deliberate interference—aligning with a broader strategic vision to fragment identity, paralyze autonomy, and prevent resurgence.


The next step would be the institutionalization of fragmentation. I would establish an organization(AL-Shabaab) in the South explicitly designed to prevent the re-emergence of the Core's economic pillars, while simultaneously encouraging and sustaining sub-national identities in the Periphery that are in tension with the Core. These peripheral identities would be cultivated to resist unification, even as the Core—by virtue of its historic and geographic logic—naturally seeks strategic depth and national coherence through reunification with the periphery.


To make the project structurally resilient, I would ensure that the regional administrations in the Periphery are consistently destabilized—either through internal conflicts or the presence of rival organizations that challenge their authority. In this way, the Periphery remains divided, distracted, and disempowered. While it too may seek strategic depth, its localized identity prevents it from achieving the means necessary for unification. Thus, the Core remains isolated, and Somali national identity becomes not only fragmented, but functionally obsolete.
