In fact they had strict conditions on instruments permitted, the type of content allowed and forbade any sinful types of content that encourages haram (including romance) with some going as far as categorising content that included prideful boasting as strictly forbidden.

The music today has morphed into something none of them could have ever imagined in term of the level wicked debauchery, it's filled with lewdness, foul language and indecent displays of the most vile forms of shamelessness along with clear demonic forms of satanism.
