The Right have found an angle to scapegoat Muslims for COVID

Youre German

:dead:
Yeah akhi, I think you could tell from the "th" sounds without me telling that I'm from Germany, it's our achilles-heel :ohlord::wow:
Thank you haha. It is actually. We have the choice between Spanish and German. I took German and Latin. Massive headache.
Oh I see. that's great to hear :salute: some Germans have a chip on their shoulder and pretend that French people refuse to speak anything but their language, seems to be generational and also a bit of an exaggeration. I learned French for 3 years but don't quote me on anything I tend to forget languages quickly
First thing tomorrow. I can't do it today I'll butcher german
:deadmanny:
I'm looking forward to it sxb you will do your old username justice :salute:

I noticed there was decent sized Somali community when I went to Berlin. Impressive.

For some reason obscure diaspora are exciting.

for me it's the other way around, I admire the countries with larger Somali diaspora communities, y'all have it so good that you don't even realise it sometimes. Tbh it's a blessing to be a recognisable community, you feel more at home/established even though you are abroad I guess.

Du kannst ehrlich gesagt noch gut auf Deutsch schreiben dafür, dass du für so kurze Zeit die Sprache gelernt hast :2tjlv3e:.
In realité ta (ton?:ayaanswag:) allemande est trés bien. J'ai oubliée tous le français que est-ce que j'ai aprendré a l'êcole. Leider fast alles vergessen. But I want to read a short story called L'enfant de Noé which is published by Reclam and they have good annotations and translations in the footnotes.

Grass is greener. Are german somalis into crime like our Swedish and UK cousins are?

@Wiilyam Ina Sheekh Zubeer

I guess you are right with this, it's always greener lol.
Most aren't tbh, they just mind their day to day lives, of course some are easier drawn into a certain lifestyle be it because of their socio-economic background or other reasons but it is not a majority or a noticeable section. We also have a lot of newcomers so it's a mixed bag here from what I can tell :samwelcome:

Thx walaal I most definitely will ask for help, especially in terms of literature tips for beginners (intermediates in the future). For me It would be sad not to maintain the level I spoke back in school, at least for small conversations when travelling etc.

Do you know of Monsieur Ibrahim et les fleurs du Coran? It's a short novel by the same author about a jewish kid in the second world-war.
I found it by chance as a give-away alongside a hardcover version of the Godfather novel by Puzo (German translation) :lawd: and I thought it would be a great way to refresh my memory, lucky day ngl :ahh:
