Exactly. Nobody ever points to the government contracting system , that’s where the real leakage happens. They throw millions/billions at private companies and org's to “provide services,” those groups bill whatever they want with no oversight, and only after the fact does the government try to claw it back. Covid just supercharged it.
That’s why you don’t see the same scandals in Canada or Europe , the state actually runs most of these programs directly, so there’s built-in oversight. Fraud is way harder to pull off. Even Musk’s “Doge” unit had to admit they didn’t find much in Social Security once they stopped with the clown-show accusations.
The obvious fix? Stop outsourcing everything. Federal and local governments should manage these programs themselves instead of funneling money through contractors.
And let’s be real ,welfare fraud, Medicaid scams, food aid abuse , it’s rarely the recipients. It’s usually organizations, corporations, and yes, mostly White-owned businesses exploiting the system. But instead, the media scapegoats poor people, immigrants, and minorities while the real crooks walk away with billions.

That white woman Aime Bock was literally the mastermind behind it all. Did you even read the court documents? She was the one exploiting people and directing the scheme , they’ve got the text messages to prove it.
And let’s be clear: the wider Somali community had nothing to do with it. A Somali restaurant and a wholesaler were ''initially implicated'' but later cleared on all charges. They showed receipts in court , years in business, legitimate operations, all they did was supply food that was actually ordered. Zero involvement in fraud.

Think about it , do you realize how many Somali businesses and orgs operate in America? If fraud was some “Somali thing,” there’d be thousands of indictments. But it’s rare.
Canada is a perfect example , Somalis were repeatedly investigated for welfare fraud, and every time it came up empty
They just pumped out BS headlines non stop.
Same in Minnesota: remember when Fox9 tried to push the daycare fraud conspiracy? After a full audit, nothing was found. What actually came out was that Somali money transfer operators are more transparent than people assume , they register, notify, and report exactly how much money is sent and where, so it can be verified. Nothing to do with child care funds or terrorism.

So really, this just proves Somalis are held to a level of scrutiny no other group faces. One person messes up and it gets plastered everywhere. And when they don’t find wrongdoing? They just spin conspiracy theories and make headlines out of thin air.
