Why? Because if I have a criminal record then it'll negatively affect me in the future. Short-term I might feel good because I saved my parents from jail, but long-term it will have devastating consequences.

Also my parents must have done some pretty bad stuff if they got 5 years in this country. Not even rapists get 5 years.
