So how do you have Tigre roots?:farole: What Tigre are you even talking about...

Because my grandfather was from Agig, Sudan. If it makes you feel any better, I don't ever mention it in real life. I was just trying to relate, not offend :cosbyhmm:

Spicy and salty maraq is superior
Foh with your malab and subag fool :lolbron:

Salute to you, but:susp: I like it with suugo, but never ever with maraq. Then again, I hate all soups so there might be bias on my part

My Cousin wife is Amxaro she knows how to make Daro wat. I like my Xilb Geel and Canno Geel The best, My Baris needs to be Spiced with Maraq.
That is good. Like really good. Probably the best habesha cuisine has to offer, and their spice is on my kulel level.

I don't know what T'ibsi is.

Maraq is a thin broth, sugo is a thicker stew. Are they similar?

T'ibs in Amharic lol

And yes, we say mereq for broth and sigo for 'sauce', like we'd call the sauce in spaghetti 'sigo'.
Here's the first words origin:

So probably an Arabic word lol

Hmm, so they're the same. Sugo can be a sauce too, we use it for both sauces and stews.

I looked it up and a picture of the assorted arrangement on a plate of injera popped up, is that Tibsi? I think doro wat is better, plus it looks like a philosophical question on a plate. :icon lol:

I will find out where this sugo word originates from, probably Cushitic:notsureif:. T'ibsi is like pan fried beef with other things, I don't know what the method of cooking it is called lol:icon lol:.

@Prince Abubu Do you know the etymology of the word suugo:notsureif:?

In relation to maraq, sugo is thick. I don't think we have a specific word for stew but maybe we do im not the one to ask.

But in @.said's example, the sauce in Spaghetti sauce is called sugo in Somali, but from what I understand it can be used for stews too.
