The Palestinians Only Have Themselves & Their Fellow Arabs To Blame For Their Current Situation!

The Palestinians and some other Arab countries are suffering now because they betrayed the Ottoman Empire. Israel would most likely not exist right now had the betrayal not happened. The Arabs wanted their own states and worked with the Europeans to get it. Predictably, the Europeans were only really out for themselves. The British gave Palestine to the Zionists.

The Arabs chose nationalism! It worked out for some of them ie Saudi Arabia and the gulf countries. However, they willingly worked with the British and French in destroying the Ottomans. Yet, now Somalis are suppose to care about one of their failed nationalist project aka Palestine?

You are partially right, it is their fault for falling for nationalism and breaking off of the Ottoman Empire. But that doesn't mean we shouldn’t hold sympathy for Palestinians, most of which who are kids/teens who were born into this mess.

al-Mu'tamid المعتمد

عِشْ مَا شِئْتَ فَإِنَّكَ مَيِّتٌ
Abu Malik al-Ashja’i reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever declares the unity of Allah and denies whatever is worshipped besides Him, then Allah has made his wealth and life sacred, and his reckoning is upon Allah Almighty.

Do not disregard sacred blood.

The Ottoman Empire increasingly became a ‘Turkish Empire’ so all of the groups naturally wanted their own countries. You can blame the Young Turks for that, they started off inclusive as the ‘Young Ottomans’ and eventually became Turkish Nationalists and discredited the power of the Sultan twice. People often think Turkish nationalism started with Ataturk, but he only cemented it.

Empty promises

All along, the Arabs had sided with the British on the promise of independence after the war. T E Lawrence drew a map for the British war cabinet which outlines the Arabs’ expectations. However in the following months and years all their hopes were dashed, as Britain and France moved to secure their own interests in the Middle East. As far as the Arabs were concerned, imperial rule continued, albeit under different rulers.

Allenby informed Faisal Hussein that the British would control Palestine (in order to oversee the implementation of the Balfour Declaration) and Mesopotamia. The French would control Lebanon. All Arab lands would be brought under ‘Allied Occupied Enemy Territory Administration’. Where there was no direct rule, the British and French would govern territories through a system of mandates – temporary government for a period before representative national governments took over.

Arab resentment towards the West

Unsurprisingly, these political arrangements were extremely unpopular with the Arabs. At the very least, they demanded independent states in Syria and the Hejaz. When Faisal Hussein established himself in Damascus as king of Syria the French despatched a force of colonial troops and sent Faisal into exile. His father Sharif Hussein remained as king of the Hejaz but refused to have anything further to do with the British and in 1925 his country fell to the up-and-coming Saud family. Faisal and his brother Abdullah were eventually installed as kings of Iraq and Transjordan respectively but these were nominal roles only as the British ruled the countries under the mandate system.

The Arab Revolt had contributed to the defeat of the Ottoman Empire in the Middle East yet, far from being rewarded for their support, they were sidelined after the war.

Sykes-Picot Agreement, also called Asia Minor Agreement, (May 1916), secret convention made during World War I between Great Britain and France, with the assent of imperial Russia, for the dismemberment of the Ottoman Empire. The agreement led to the division of Turkish-held Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine into various French- and British-administered areas. Negotiations were begun in November 1915, and the final agreement took its name from the chief negotiators from Britain and France, Sir Mark Sykes and François Georges-Picot. Sergey Dimitriyevich Sazonov was also present to represent Russia, the third member of the Triple Entente.

Us Arabs are the natural leaders of Islam. Turkish rule over Arab lands was illegitimate.
LMAO Arabs haven’t been the leaders of Islam for over a millenia. Turks like the Seljuks, Mamluks and Ottomans have done far more than they have. Plus you aren’t arab so knock off the larp.

Ironic how this man and his children never found peace after this betrayal.

Damn karma is a b*tch these guys used to rule Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq, French/British just used and abused them against their own Muslim Turkish brethren’s. Lost Syria, Iraq to generals and Saudi Arabia to the house of Saud only left with Jordan. How the mighty Hashemite’s have fallen!

Their ancestors fucked them over, which can be interpreted as even more reason to defend the plight of Palestinians tbh. The majority of them are in this situation due to no fault of their own
