Dogs are okay, it's the big and dangerous dogs and r*t*rded people who adopt them people should worry of. Dogs kill 25,000+ people annually and that is just in one country.

It's a little sad regarding the dogs in particular because it seems Somali nomads did actually historically keep dogs and liked them and we know that our ancient Cushitic ancestors definitely did and even drew them in their cave-paintings. It seems over-time that what Richard Burton describes as the mentality of Reer Magaal Somalis became the norm and dogs are now disliked by all Somalis:

The settled Somal have a holy horror of dogs, and, Wahhabi-like, treat man’s faithful slave most cruelly. The wild people are more humane; they pay two ewes for a good colley, and demand a two-yearold sheep as “diyat” or blood-money for the animal, if killed.

The people should be prioritized first but our folk should be educated on treating these animals humanely like the Turks do.

And I have a liking toward the buggers, honestly. But that being said, I can never quite jibe with people who place animal lives over those with humans. Most, I have noticed, have unfortunately had a troubling past with people. Abusive homes, bullying and/or ostracization at school and the list goes on. This then prompts them to see animals like cats and dogs among others as the only creatures that don't really mistreat, judge or abandon them given that most of these animals are like innocent toddlers who will generally be chill and, depending on their temperament, affectionate toward you so long as you don't abuse them and make sure to keep them fed.

I, thank Allah, have not had such unpleasant experiences with my own species growing up so no animal's life will ever be worth more than even a human being I dislike's life. That's just a hierarchy firmly established in my mind. Dogs can be sweet, loyal to death and even helpful animals but I'll never have a real conversation with one or be taught or mentored in anything by one in truth, or open up to and deeply emotionally connect to one, or fall in love with and have children with one... They can never match the depth of relationships you can acquire with Humans.

And, of course, don't get me started on the using pets as surrogates for babies crowd:
