Some people believe that Somalis are mostly Sufis or Salafists. This is not true
Most Somalis are from the Tablighi Jamaat these days
1-They have the most mosques in every Somali city
2-They are the only ones who go to people in baadiyo areas .
so most of people there also became tabeglin

also, the largest annual Islamic meeting attended by 10,000 people is the Tabliiq meeting
This shows you that they are the most common. Sufis or Salafis cannot gather such a number like that from everywhere

What is the Tablighi Jamaat, and how do they differ from other
What do the Tablighi Jamaat believe and how are they different from the other two groups?
They believe in these principles and you should follow them
1-Kalimah — "An article of faith in which the tabligh accepts that there is no god but Allah and the Prophet Muhammad is His messenger" (lā ilāha illā -llāh Muḥammadur rasūlu -llāh);
2-Salah (aka Namaz) — Performing the five daily prescribed ritual prayers "that are essential to spiritual elevation, piety, and a life free from the ills of the material world";
3-Ilm with Zikr (knowledge and remembrance of Allah) — This involves "sessions in which the congregation listens to preaching by the emir, performs prayers, recites the Quran and reads Hadith". The congregation will also use In addition the congregation will eat meals together during these sessions to foster "a sense of community and identity";
4-Ikram al-Muslim (Honoring Muslims) — Treating fellow Muslims "with honor and deference";
5-Ikhlas-i-Niyyah (Monotheism and Intention) – "Reforming one's life in supplication to Allah by performing every human action for the sake of Allah and toward the goal of self-transformation";
6-Dawah & Tabligh (Invitation and Conveyance), also Tafrigh-i-Waqt (sparing time) — Inviting and Preaching – "The sparing of time to live a life based on faith and learning its virtues, following in the footsteps of Muhammad, and taking His message door to door for the sake of faith",

They do not interfere in politics like the other two. They follow neutrality, but people say that they exaggerate this neutrality. No matter what happens, they say that you should not interfere in it
They sound like alright folk. When did they start becoming more prominent? I swear we've always been salafi or sufi, so this is news to me.

In the last 15 years, they began to spread and now they are the largest. Go to any mosque and you will find the Tablighi Jamaat there

Even in the diaspora they are very known. Many somali sheikhs are prominent tablighis such as Sheikh Hussein Ali Jabuuti. I remember in his khutba telling he has visited over 100 countries.

Three things I don't like about them, and I'm talking about the ones in the West.

1. They basically tell you to make niyyah and go with them for 40 days, sometimes three days. When you tell them you have responsibilities, they downplay it and are little pushy.

2. Once you go with them, they make you stand up in front of people at various mosques and quote hadiths that you have no knowledge of if they are authentic or weak. They have this giant book that contains a lot of hadiths and a lot of scholars said it contains some weak hadiths.

3. They only preach to Muslims; I would have respected them more if they also preached to non Muslims who deserve the message more.

I don't think this proves they are the biggest... I don't know all that much about them but I've met the tablighis before and they are within an organizational structure... their organizational structure can summon them whereas salafis and sufis aren't necessarily within an organization
