Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was never obscene, nor would he behave immorally. The Prophet would say, “Verily, among the best of you are those with the best character.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 3366, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2321 Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi (authenticity agreed upon) according to Al-Bukhari and Muslim
Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, “Verily, the Muslim is directed in the right manner. He will rise to the level of one who regularly fasts and stands for prayer with the verses of Allah, due to his good character and his generous nature.” Source: Musnad Aḥmad 6610 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Ahmad Shakir
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, the most beloved to me are those of you with the best character, soft in nature, friendly and befriended. The most hateful of you to Allah are those who spread gossip, who cause discord between loved ones and seek misery for the innocent.” In another narration, the Prophet said, “Seeking misery and finding faults with the innocent.” Source: al-Mu’jam al-Awsaṭ 7693 Grade: Hasan li ghayrihi (fair due to external evidence) according to Al-Albani
‘Urwah reported: Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said, “No one had better character than the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. No one from his companions or his family called upon him but that he would say: I am at your service. For this reason, Allah Almighty revealed the verse: Verily, you are upon great moral character.” (68:4) Source: Dalā’il al-Nubuwwah 119
Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever abandons lies in support of falsehood, a house will be built for him in the surroundings of Paradise. Whoever abandons arguments even though he is right, a house will be built for him in its middle. Whoever makes his character excellent, a house will be built for him in its highest part.” Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 1993 Grade: Hasan (fair) according to Al-Tirmidhi
