I'm not saying this for the title of "most oppressed" Somali group, but i hate that even though degodia have tried to join and had no choice but to become kenyan, Somalis choose to revise history instead of accepting accountability.

Do people in the nfd want to be part of Somalia today? I am not familiar with any libration movements. It seems Somalis are getting more positions of power in Kenya and being integrated. Nfd folks also have stable government while south Somalia has alshabab and chaos

NFD is not perfect but being degodia in wajr is way better then being victimized by larger clans or extorted by AS in Jubaland. both jubaland and NFD are kinda self governing, my assumption* is AS is empowered in jubaland because allot of marginalized sub-clans want revenge for acts committed against them in the last 35 years.

Regardless, its really sad to see my people and Somalis as a whole do better in foreign lands that have contributed to their demise, and we continue to hate each other even though at every level our society is crumbling.

Garissans also faced the same thing there was a day when tana river was filled with blood flowing from the city, thousands killed. Apparently a somali military man went to garissa and killed some Kenyan police and fled the night back to somalia.
somali government was filled with weaklings including siyad bare later on who betrayed somali people of galbeed and nfd. A United somalia is dead brother work making nfd a better place and later if you’re big enough and economically on form then declare independence. I think understanding what happened in the past helps make better decisions in the future, case in point NFD was “released” by Somalia. And I’m always surprised when people speak of unifying Somalis, when we have/are and will always be divided.

I think it’s better to focus on individual growth, and at least have one area that Somalis control that isn’t a shit show.

Very sad. Patience is key. Somalis are equally hurt. Ask yourself for the last 30 years who benefitted? 1 clan, 1 class? None. We dont even have upper, middle or lower class as a social group. There is no class identity between Somalis. I am an habar gidir. I learned how politically influential my sub sub clan is and my clan hawiye but I am not really benefitting. I am a 2nd generation refugee living in Europe. My family backhome arent businessmen and politicians either. Have bunch of families living in jiingado. So its our responsibility to right the wrong of our predecessors. Whatever mistake happened then will not be repeated again. The old heads almost all of them have died out and there is already a political shift. Somalis in Kenya should hold on to their identity. Build up their region, educate, make money, make peace amongst other Somalis like Garre. Karbash the Oromos. Have minimum 7 kids per mother. We gonna be the largest ethnic group in Kenya. Dont let some smelly kikuyu boss you around. We now have a Somali defence minister. Thats good, he must believe Somalis first, Somalia second, Kenya annaga iska leh.

Somalis will be the largest ethnic groups I believe by 2030. Make sure Somalis will be the next to lead Kenya, to be the majority in the parliament. Think that Somalis dont have to join Kenya, Somalis will take Kenya. Ethiopia is another issue because Somalis are outnumbered by Oromos and Amharas. So Somalis must work together in Kenya, Djibouti and Somalia. Somalia will naturally be at the top. Also things are different now. I believe any ethnic Somali can recieve Somali passport.

So just call the Somali embassy. I dont have one, havent tried.

Somalis in Kenya should focus on making change locally, have many children and stay close to your ethnic roots. From what I have heard. Ajuraan are being assimilated by Boronas and most Ajuraan cant speak proper somali. Heard the same about Degodia too. Garre have lost their af somaali long ago but it has become a trend for them to learn it.

Focus on becoming the largest ethnic group, focus on building your region. Focus on taking over Kenya. Read that the largest ethnic group dominates the country cause if every ethnic group votes for their own, Kikuyus win. So also have political alliance with Boronas, Swahilis. Tell them to vote in Somalis. Boronas actually also wanted to join Somalia in 1960.

Thats good but Ajuraan live also in NFD. They can both be found in Somalia and in Kenya. I am specifically talking about those who have lived in Kenya bordering the Boronas. Again protect your ethnic identity. Have many kids, do what is best to protect you and your community. I think things needs to change at local level. Just sticking with the deen and holding onto your ethnic roots while having many kids will make us win in the longterm. Kikuyus fertility rate is below replacement rate. So just do your thing. Ajuraan was ruling their part of the Somali lands and Adal was doing their thing. But both were winning. We can do the same as for now, and when things are critical we can help each other across the regions.

As soon as Somalia get rid of Shabaab and HSM does what he does and the arms embargo is lifted. See a flows of arm going to your community the other ethnic groups.

The borders can stay as they are while we help each other cross border. Its not like there is a wall between Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia. Nomads go in and out easily
