Unfortunately, they are not that visible in the media outside of Canada. Bulk of the hate will be directed towards those from Africa and the Middle East i.e. Muslims.

Indians make up 3.1% of the population in the UK. Asians make up 9.3% of the population, and 90% of those are South Asians from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

In the UK, the media labels South Asians as being groomers, but even then, most of the groomers are Pakistani descent, who are Muslim, so most of the hate is directed towards Muslims.

You will rarely hear about some hate campaign that targets Indians exclusively over here. This is why I think Canada is a special case.

I also realised that there are more Asians in Canada than in the UK despite Canada’s population being less than the UK, or even England.

Asians make up 19% of Canada which is a lot more than in the UK. I’m surprised they haven’t had an Indian PM in Canada, but the UK now has an Indian PM (Rishi Sunak), even though he wasn’t elected.

Maybe, there needs to be more mass migrations of Indians into the UK for them to shift the hate towards Indians, like it’s happening in Canada.

This is purely a Canadian thing. No hate for Indians here in the US
