The conundrum of Somalis in the West

On the one hand, the West offers material security, freedom of speech (within limits) as well as personal freedom (your right to be khaniis etc.) On the other hand, Somalia offers more ethno-cultural "embeddedness," more belonging, more freedom from things that plague the West (anomie, alienation, loneliness, khaniisnimo, etc.)

I dont think i will ever go back permanently too much stuff i would be giving up. Especially safety and providing children with a stable future.
