That was a sad watch. Shit is fucked up.

The way that minister tried to avoid the question of South Sudan being corrupt was comical.

I feel no sympathy for them, they rebelled and begged the west until Sudan let them go and now they are much worse off.

They went through discrimination and racism and didn’t had as much rights compared to the north. They don’t share the same culture, religion, Language, and ARENT the same ethnicity as the norther Sudanese people. The Northern Sudanese are mostly Arabs and Cushitic, while the southern Sudanese are Nilotic. It wouldn’t have worked either for both of them if both countries still stayed with each other.

I very much doubt the racism or discrimination was widely because In Sudan it's not easy to tell who is nilotic and who is cushitic, either way most people don't care. On the topic of language, most people in the south can Speak arabic and many continue to speak it as a common language alongside English.

Whatever hardships they faced under Sudanese rule is nothing compared to the massacres and brutal civil war they are experiencing now. South Sudans independence was something pushed by the west to further weaken Sudan which they already put sanctions on.

"The same men who tore this country apart remain very much in power while civilians continue to pay the price"

This is exactly the same thing we are facing in Somalia, we have the old grumpy men who destroyed Somalia in power, they don't wanna collaborate and help each other and work for the interest of the people. They only care about their stomachs and their kids in Dubai and the West.
