In general, there is very little influence from ruling populations (under 10%) in the old world. Even in Turks who got conquered by Central Asians are still mainly local in origin (kind of obvious from how they look), but since Levantines and Arabians look a bit similar people assume their ancestors got totally replaced by Arabians when this didn't really happen.
