Ethiopia was bombing Somalia all the time unprovoked and was killing Somalis in the Ogaden nearly every single day. They would've invaded us anyway, the war was more about Somali survival, you have to look at it in a Geopolitical lens. Ethiopia cannot exist if there is a Strong unified Somali state

In that case Ethiopia is here to stay because there will never be a strong unified Somali state. We were a stable country for 30 full years. We’ve been a failed state for 32 full years. Most of the country was born into an anarchic state. The ones who fully remember what living in a country with functioning institutions are senior citizens. It’s over.

It would have been more effective to not directly invade but to just heavily support the WSLF, a invasion even though 100% justified will always loose us support in world community. We should learn from Rwanda who indirectly rules east congo through M23 tutsi rebels without rwandan soldiers ever setting foot in there.

The funniest part is that most of his victims were commies as well :mjlol:

Himself and his regime were commies, the rebels he fought against were fellow commies (EPLF/TPLF). The political opposition were also commies (that he decimated upwards of 750k in the ethiopian 'red terror'). :mjkkk:

I see what you mean but Siyaad govt achievements had a lot to do with having the support and guidance of a superpower. We don’t have that. Countries were willing to deal advisors, equipment, and knowledge to the Somali govt because we were stable.

The Somalia of today is a bone that gets picked between countries like Turkey, Qatar, UAE, Kenya, etc. all under the watch of the West. Only when we have security of our borders and remove all foreign forces then you can see bigger deals that can lead to what you’ve mentioned.

Ethiopia also had the "guidance" of a superpower but failed miserably in their development. The "guidance" (( believe) we mostly had was militarily for the most part. Everything else was due to our leadership of bright Somalis from all over Somaliweyn working together for a common goal which achieved success and even when the soviets abandoned us we still kept pushing on with fighting famines, feeding ourselves, increasing our exports and other various things.

There's nothing a communist hate more than another communist.
Same with Christians who will go to holy wars to wipe out another Christian with a slightly different sect

That's like some somali-bantu taking over all of somalia under a dictatorship and oppressing us, he would get hanged before he stepped foot in villa somalia

I have no idea how it happened but then again many people from small groups through history end up taking power somehow. Napolean was corsican, Hitler was Austrian, Stalin was Georgian, Bashar Assad is Alawite etc.. there's a pattern of this all the time.

Ethiopia is also multiethnic so maybe that's how he was able to get power, maybe he was seen a "neutral" leader. Also a Somali bantu or cadcad would probably never get power like this, I can see a Somali from a small ethnic Somali clan getting power like this though. We saw how much power Reer Aw Xasan and Fahad Yaasin had/have in Somalia despite being Sheekhal. I think we will see someone who isn't from the big clans get power in the future if 4.5 is eliminated
