Sxb check the video out before you curse out 50cent.Rule number one for success: Do not look up to nor take as role models nor emulate degenerate rappers. For anyone wanting success (not just financial) it's imperative that they distance themselves from hip-hop culture completely.

The blame should not be on hip hop culture.I did. He gives good tips. But I still stand by what I said above. One of the main reasons Somalis are messing up so badly in the West, especially in Canada, is because our youth have totally bought into the degenerate hip-hop culture. One can get the same tips from other people who don't represent such a destructive way of living.

It's messing up all African diasporas.
Exactly. And this is why our youth identifying as black is a major problem, because in the west hip-hop culture is black culture. When Somalis and other African kids listen to rap they internalize the messages and it shows in their actions, their dress, their attitudes, their values. When cadaans, indhoyar, indians and others listen to it they just view it as some mindless entertainment.
Remember rule 3. Never be ashamed of your past. 50 cent was the shit back in the day when I was growing up. I have had similar struggles and I would one day like to be wealthier than him.Don't ever look up to people like 50 cent. He was a drug dealer before he got into hip hop and his music are about drugs, es, and getting in trouble with the law. Hip Hop culture is definitely what destroyed AAs and any group of people who associate themselves with.
You should listen for advice to people like Arnold Schwarzenegger, a FOB who climbed to the top of the social ladder.
I love how mostly everyone in this thread just generalizes Hip Hop, as if there's nothing meaningful to be found in it. There's even a whole sub-genre called "conscious hip-hop" for pete's sake.
Open your mind. Expand your tastes. Give it a shot.
It doesn't necessarily have to be the mainstream/radio stuff, people can look elsewhere too. Thanks to the internet, it's much much easier to access now as well (lots of treasures waiting to be found, just a click away). Not all is bad but 90 percent of the mainstream crap is just nonsense lyrics promoting drugs, materialism and hypersexual behavior, this goes for pop music as well
Cause your ass ain't from the trenches50 cent is the only rapper whose interviews I can listen to. The rest is just garbage
Look at this shit
