Telling Muslim women to cover up their headscarf properly

Ok but why are people fixated on a women’s hijab? Don’t they know that we have much more severe problems?

Why not forbid the evils of gangs, welfare fraud, absent fathers, corruption, tribalism, racism, etc?

I am a Somali Muslim man, but it’s clear to me that there’s more focus on correcting our sisters when most of the serious harm done in our community is done by us men

I agree that these hijabis are misguided. Same as the ones who wear very tight clothes that reveal their bodies

However if we are being honest Somali gang members are a far greater evil that does more harm to our people. Somali Abos who are absent from their children, or secretly get second wives they can’t afford have a far greater impact on our community

If these people were serious about uplifting our community by forbidding evil, they’d focus on the evils done by us men before swinging for the low hanging fruit that is a Muslim women’s hijab
You don't have to focus on anything. Anytime you see something bad, call it out. Saying that we shouldn't talk about lesser evils because greater evils exist is extremely misguided.

عِشْ مَا شِئْتَ فَإِنَّكَ مَيِّتٌ
Policing random women who got nothing to do with you lol. If we didn't grow up under the same roof I can care less if you walk outside with no shirt
It doesn't matter if it doesn't trouble my family right? Like the Prophets (may peace and blessings be upon them) where only ever send to their family and not the entire community right. As if the Israelites weren't destroyed by Allah, due to their silence and mixing of wrongdoers although they didn't approve their actions. This sub is filled with mindless bots that only care for their own mudpool.

And we’ll continue to be mindless bots. No amount of shaming will make us treat a random like she’s our sister or daughter

Ignoring the greater evils that have kept our community impoverished and abused is even more misguided

Sometimes whataboutism is valid. Threads on Somali gangbangers are hard to come by but going after big titty Sabrina is a weekly occurrence

I feel utterly disgusted and would always shake my head in disbelief asking myself why when I see Muslim women wearing hijab in a fashionable way. I always feel tempted to tell them to cover up properly but just can't.

Wearing headscarf that's pulled slightly backward with partial hair showing, headscarf that's wrapped loosely around their neck with tight attires, the one where the back of their head resembles xenomorph from the movie Alien and the one with 3 layer makeup and fake eyelash.

Like who gets off by that shit? It's very hard to because it instantly reminds you the purpose of wearing them and how they're violating it so again, who are they trying to impress?

I don't want them to be seen as sex dolls like gaal so do any of you have experience on telling them to cover themselves properly?
I only care about Somali hijabi girls other Muslim girls not that much.

I never said to ignore them. You're making it seem like we have to choose between talking about greater evils or lesser evils. Talk about both.

Did the Prophet (SAWS) ignore lesser evils because his society had bigger issues? Of course not. In fact, he would even call people out if they did something so minor as to eat food with their left hand.

If everyone had to be perfect in order to give advice, then no one would be able to give advice.
If everyone worked on perfecting their character, you would not need to give advice. Good character begets good character. Try it some time. Show patience, kindness and understanding instead of harshe judgement. Your advise may fall on more receptive ears.

Your right Bani Israel where cursed by the prophets and destroyed For this.

(5:78) Those of the Children of Israel who took to unbelief have been cursed by the tongue of David and Jesus, son of Mary, for they rebelled and exceeded the bounds of right. (5:79) They did not forbid each other from committing the abominable deeds they committed. Indeed what they did was evil.

Reason we are from the best ummah is because we advise and guide our brothers and sisters even our family relatives we dislike and will be heartbroken if they become misguided this is a trait only from Nation of Muhammed.

if she's a family member then okay if not then you're just a jobless guy who should mind he's own business

Hypothetically, what would you do in this situation if she comes up and give you the look? Would you take your chance to tell her to cover up and walk away?

How can you advise someone if you're too busy focusing on yourself? Sometimes, people need to be given reminders. I'm not saying you should be harsh, but there is nothing wrong with advising someone that you see is committing sins. In fact, it would be a disservice to them for you not to do so.

Ain't yo job buddy. Let the male relatives step up and get with life.

They’ll probably call you a weirdo
You’re probably right, just look at the reaction here and the comment sections elsewhere.

No wonder why men are strongly advised to lock their women away to safeguard them from Dajjal. The scary part is that it may sound easy but if they’ve been let loose today (so bad that even South Asians failed) over this then it won’t be easy.

Why don't you sit down, and write down everything you do and see if it pleases or displeases Allah SWT. We're not sent to earth, to tell other people what to do, it's not our place. Worry about yourself first and after that, your immediate family.

That is not true. In Islam we are encouraged to advise, remind, and encourage Muslims to do good. Not just to other Muslims but to all people. It is what we were sent on earth to do, one of the main things. It is called commanding the good and forbidding the evil. It is one of the main teachings of Islam.

The "live and let live" is a foreign gaalo concept and since it is the opposite of what Islam teaches it is satanic and encourages the flourishing of evil.

"You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allāh. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient." 3:110

"Cursed were those who disbelieved among the Children of Israel by the tongue of David and of Jesus, the son of Mary. That was because they disobeyed and [habitually] transgressed.

They used not to prevent one another from wrongdoing that they did. How wretched was that which they were doing." 5:78-79

"[And Luqmān said], "O my son, indeed if it [i.e., a wrong] should be the weight of a mustard seed and should be within a rock or [anywhere] in the heavens or in the earth, Allāh will bring it forth. Indeed, Allāh is Subtle and Aware.

O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] resolve." 31:16-17

"O Prophet, fear Allāh and do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites. Indeed, Allāh is ever Knowing and Wise." 33:1

My point was against the harsh judgements many use as a way of giving advice.

If we focused more on the inner aspects of Islam, like fighting your own ego, we would be a much better society.
