Ok since the OP cannot be bothered to summarise what the article is about..
A 17 year old Somali girl from alberta found a new way of extracting diamonds without damaging them. Her discovery has even allowed her to present her research to industry experts despite her doing this as an internship.
Mashallah more Somali girl excellence. Not only are we smart, beautiful but the world is finally noticing. Somali girls are slept on wallahi.
She needs to cash in her idea

āShe found ten diamonds,ā Regier said of the second method. āSo what that implies is that when you use a mechanical crusher, you are actually damaging a significant number of diamonds and decreasing your total diamond yield.ā
She hasn't even graduated high school and she's already accomplished more than everyone on this entire site. Mashallah!Brad Jongkind, an Edmonton-based gemologist and jewelry store owner, said Aliās discovery has the potential to āset the world on fireā in the diamond industry.
I hope she pursues this subject further. It will look great on her resume when applying for other jobs in that field and we could really use someone as intelligent as her working in geology. There are just so many untapped mineral deposits in Somalia.I didnāt know there were other Somalis that had an interest in geology.

She needs to patent this ASAP...
Otherwise she will be used, and end up with nothing
That is what I was thinking but do you reckon this is patentable?
Patents also aren't worth the paper they are written on if you don't have the money to sue the people infringing on your patent.
Not doubting you sxb but I've never heard any evidence of foreigners taking minerals in Berbera, just a base there.I hope she pursues this subject further. We have one of the world's largest amoubt of uranium in central Somalia and other minerals are already being extracted by ajnabi in Berbera. I also heard that the Caal Madow mountains are full of minerals. There is probably lots of gold in the south as well.
I just heard it from someone back home. He said that it's well known and that the local clans threatened the government when they tried to stop it.Not doubting you sxb but I've never heard any evidence of foreigners taking minerals in Berbera, just a base there.
