We have one of the world's largest amoubt of uranium in central Somalia and other minerals are already being extracted by ajnabi in Berbera. I also heard that the Caal Madow mountains are full of minerals. There is probably lots of gold in the south as well.

Patents also aren't worth the paper they are written on if you don't have the money to sue the people infringing on your patent.

For something as important as this, she should not have trouble getting support for attorney fees to support a patent. And ofcourse she should be able to patent this, you can patent pretty much anything.

Not doubting you sxb but I've never heard any evidence of foreigners taking minerals in Berbera, just a base there.

I just heard it from someone back home. He said that it's well known and that the local clans threatened the government when they tried to stop it.
