Taliban were able to reduce poppy production by 80% which is used to make drugs like opium. This is something that that no western backed govt was able to accomplish even with troops on the ground

Tbh, the Taliban were engaged in the drug trade and used it as a lifeline to support their militant activities. We shouldn’t turn them into some heroes, as they’re responsible for a significant share of the state of Afghanistan today as a drug haven.

The same with western presence in the country which contributed and exacerbated opioid addiction with massive fold.

Now that the Taliban are left with the country for themselves, they’ll have to do something about the consumption. But they should not be removed from the responsibility for turning their country into the way it is.

That is a lie. You are regurgitating western propaganda. The Taliban banned opium before and after the invasion. During the US occupation of Afghanistan US soldiers had control of the fields and it was at an all time high. In fact in that time there was an opiate crisis in the west, who do you think was bringing it in? As soon as the US left the opiates dried up in the west and the Taliban banned it again.

You need to learn to stop believing main stream media. It is more often then not lies, pure propaganda.

Once they left Afghanistan and it was banned by the Taliban, they quickly replaced it with new drugs like fentanyl fuelling the latest "epidemics".

If anyone believe in propaganda out the two of us, it's you. Taking everything the Taliban says as facts, just cause you're anti-west, lol :what:

'During the US occupation of Afghanistan US soldiers had control of the fields and it was at an all time high.'

Yeah, I acknowledged this fact and let me say it again, it was cultivated *openly* in farms under the jurisdiction of the former gov't; but what about the territory that was under control of the Talibans? Let's not act dumb and make it seem like the weren't involved in this, when they controlled vast land (that the west were trying to regain) in which opium were grown/sold/traded etc. They even taxed local farmers involved in growing and trafficking opium.

What are your sources? Social media users? Talibans? People with anti-western views (nothing wrong, but they're clearly biased just like you're telling me)? :mjlol:

And you have the audacity to appeal to me to stop following mainstream media (when I use a variety of sources) kkkk. Otherwise, I would just take everything I read as truth, lol.

Your sources also shows that cultivation of opium has grown since 2001, when the fall of Talibans occurred. But they've since taken back territory. And you conveniently left that out of your equations? kkk :drakewtf:

But according to you/your sources, it makes the assumption that it was all done by the west. Alone. Talibans controlled upwards of 1/3 of the country before their offensive started in taking over the rest of the country in 2021. Most of the opium were cultivated in farms along the south/south-western regions, controlled by both the gov't and Talibans controlled. Including border areas.

Also, you're anti-mainstream media. Even your so-called sources, were based upon stats made by people you don't seem to trust, lol. But there’re only used when it suits you and your viewpoints, otherwise it's parroting western propaganda kkkkk :mjlaugh:

What was the Talibans main source of income, if you can answer that honest? They were dependent on narcotics, and now that the country is in their control, not as much anymore. Talibans are no different from other opportunist groups in doing any- and everything that suits them. Irrespective of whether it's prohibited or permitted islamically.

I can't even take this interaction serious :manny:

Again, you are repeating propaganda and did not bother to provide any evidence for your claims. You are just insisting for what reason I do not know.

It is a well known fact the Taliban both before and after the invasion banned opium and it is also a fact the US was in control of the poppy fields during the occupation. And that is when the opiate and heroin "epidemic" in NA was at its highest.

It is not rocket science, I provided actual articles and stats to show you.

What a strange thing to insist on without evidence. Why do you want to believe this lie so bad?
