Ibn Hajr on Ibn Taymiyyah:

“Others considered him a hypocrite [Munafiq] because of what he said about Ali… that he had been forsaken everywhere he went, had repeatedly tried to acquire the Khilafah and never attained it, fought out of lust for power rather than religion, and said that he loved authority while Uthman loved money. He would say that Abu Bakr had declared Islam in his old age, fully aware of what he said, while Ali had declared Islam as a boy, and the boy’s Islam is not considered sound upon his mere word… In sum he said ugly things such as these, and it was said against him that he was a hypocrite, in view of the Prophet’s (s) saying (to Ali): “Only a hypocrite would show you hatred”.

The Prophet [saw] said: "Whoever's mawla I am, 'Ali is his mawla", and
Ali said: "The Prophet promised me, no one would love me except a believer and no one would hate me except a hypocrite."

You cant say, "Ali is not welcome here go to Iraq for that". Because if you consider the Prophet as your mawla, then so is Ali as well. Can you say the Prophet (saw) is not welcome here?

Ibn Taymiyyah had a very unhealthy and horrible obsession with Ali radhiyallahu anhu and would insult him every chance he got. Here are just a few of his statements from his most famous books especially Minhaj al Sunnah:

«وقد أنزل الله تعالى في علي: {يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لاَ تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلاَةَ وَأَنْتُمْ سُكَارَى حَتَّى تَعْلَمُوا مَا تَقُولُونَ} [سورة النساء] ، لما صلى فقرأ وخلط» اهـ.ـ

"And Allah revealed regarding Ali': {{O you who believe do not approach the Prayer whilst you are intoxicated until you clearly know what you are saying.}}. This was revealed when he ('Ali) began to recite and mumble his words (due to intoxication)."
Minhaj Al Sunnah


قال ابن حجر بترجمة ابن تيمية في (الدرر الكامنة): ((أن ابن تيمية خطّأ أمير المؤمنين عليًّا كرّم الله وجهه في سبعة عشر موضعًا خالف فيها نص الكتاب، وأن العلماء نسبوه إلى النفاق لقوله هذا في عليّ كرم الله وجهه، ولقوله أيضًا فيه:إنّه - أي: عليّ - كان مخذولاً حيث ما توجّه، وإنّه حاول الخلافة مراراً فلم ينلها، وإنّما قاتل للرئاسة لا للديانة، ولقوله: إنّه كان يحبّ الرئاسة))

Ibn Hajr Al 'Asqalani:
"Ibn Taymiyyah criticised Amir ul Mu'mineen 'Ali (may Allah honour his face) in more than 17 areas where he alleged that 'Ali went against the Book of Allah and his claim that 'Ali was attributed to have nifaq (hypocrisy) and his statement that 'Ali was disgraced wherever he went and he attempted to take the Khilafah by force many times and failed and he fought for leadership and not religious reasons and it was said about him: He loves power."
Al Durar Al Kaminah 1/114 on the section on Ibn Taymiyyah.

ويقول:{{وخلافة علي اختلف فيها أهل القبلة، ولم يكن فيها زيادة قوة للمسلمين ولا قهر ونقص للكافرين"}}

Ibn Taymiyyah: "His ('Ali) khilafah was disagreed upon by the people of the qiblah (Muslims), and there was no elevation for Muslims nor defeat for the non Muslims (when 'Ali was khalifah)."
Minhaj al Sunnah 2/208.

جميع مدائن الاسلام بلغهم العلم عن الرسول من غير علي.

Ibn Taymiyyah: "All of the great cities (of Islam) received knowledge from the Prophet saw and none (chains) went through 'Ali."
Minhaj Sunnah 7/516

And there are much much more of these strange and spiteful statements of his regarding Amir ul Mu'mineen.

وَلَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَكْرَةَ يَقُولُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ، وَهْوَ يُقْبِلُ عَلَى النَّاسِ مَرَّةً وَعَلَيْهِ أُخْرَى وَيَقُولُ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ ابْنِي هَذَا سَيِّدٌ، وَلَعَلَّ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُصْلِحَ بِهِ بَيْنَ فِئَتَيْنِ عَظِيمَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ‏"‏‏.‏

Did I said I deny the hadith.

Hazret al hassan ra is our master but what I mean is that when hassan ra took the reign he tried to fight muawiyah ra but knew that the people of Iraq are not trustworthy so he made peace with muawiyah in the year of al jama'ah
