The election amounted to nothing in he end. It's a stalemate, no clear winner. I'm hoping the moderate-right wing government manages to grab power.

SD have become irrelevant once again, that is unless they form a government with the moderate right wing parties. Which would be a PR disaster and would not end well for the moderates.

This is a scary figure. I myself from parents of immigrants believe this is fucked up. Swedish government need a backbone and just say enough of immigrants. It's their country and have the right to close borders without feeling guilt.

Problem is that if a hardcore nationalist comes to power to fix what you want best believe that they distinguish between you and them. Youre the same to them

Im disappointed with the results

I Wanted both green party and center to be kicked out of the parliament. I also hoped for the far left party to drastically drop to around 4,4

Now it’s another 4 years left policy if the coalition of moderates don’t give SD a window and work on common issues like immigration and crime

It’s a strange parliamentary system, in Norway you simply need a majority to rule and to pass laws and budget.

Shushue

With minor variations, Parliamentary Democracy is globally identical. If no political party wins an outright majority, then the King/Queen or governor general/president (like Germany, Israel and India) asks the party with the majority of votes if they could form a coalition government. If they couldn't, h/she will approach the next party with the second majority of votes to form a coalition......if they couldn't and if the rest (discounting these two) of the smaller parties couldn't form a majority government.....then it is back to square one and fresh elections will be held. Other problems faced with this system is that a sitting Prime Minister could be turfed out by his party and replace h/her with another MP. The American system of directly electing the head of state is a safer and stable democracy. We had 7 prime ministers in the last 7 years just for that reason.

Could you explain to me about the bloc politics of sweden. Is it some sort of pre established alliances that exist regardless of the outcome of the election. If its that, its verry weird.

Given stale mate of of the result, wouldn't the moderates need SD inorder to form a fomidable majority. And given the public refusal made by allians coalition, namely moderates and center party, to work with SD under any circumtances make it hard for them to rule?

Would red-green coalition ( SociaDem, co.) brake tradition and make a coalition with the center party to avoid minority goverment ?

Sorry its long text i'm bit confused about swedish politics becouse of these blocs you guys apperently vote for in addition to party who also make a list of their candidates :drakewtf:

Yeah, it's an alliance that exists regardless of outcome. The right wing bloc is called the, well, alliance. And the left wing has a bloc as well. These two blocs dominate Swedish politics.

If the moderate-right bloc wishes to form a government they will need support from SD. Problem is they have sworn not to, because SD is perceived as "racist". So really i only see two outcomes, either they end bloc politics and work together across bloc lines to form a government, or they accept support from SD and grab power. The last option would be to simply allow the left wing bloc to remain in charge for another 4 years.
