Suspected Drone Attack In Abu Dhabi Causes Fire, Kills Three!

Oh yes, has nothing to do with Saudi and UAE being at war in Yemen. Nothing at all.

is that why they tried to ethnically cleanse Iraqi Sunnis after the US "accidentally" handed Iraq over to the Shia?

I don't think they need an alleged pretext to want to kill Sunnis. I think they deem the blood of Sunnis as halal. Maybe you've been taken in by their taqiyyah.

Isn't it mostly the Saudis though who are conducting the airstrikes?

they would be seething with hatred of Sunnis if Saudi didn't even exist. they would be seething with hatred of sunnis even if Saudi didn't protect themselves and the sunnis of Yemen. if the Sunnis of Yemen and Saudi did nothing, they would ethnically cleanse Yemeni sunnis and force Yemen into being a Shia country just like when they force converted Iran to Shi'ism and just like how they are trying to reduce the Sunni population of Syria.

Allahuakbar guul Ahlu Bait we Suufis stand with you against the Wahabbi Emirati and Saudi enemy. Continue on your holy struggle against the taghuut.

Good the war crimes they and the Saudis are commiting is crimes against humanity.

and the Houthi crimes, that for some reason don't get reported in the English-language media? I wonder why the headlines are full of "SAUDI WAR CRIMES" and nothing about the Houthis bombing sunni mosques.

AL-HOUTHI GROUP RECEIVES RAMADAN BY BOMBING SUNNI MOSQUES IN YEMEN

Yemen’s contemporary history witnessed a heated conflict between the political forces, but that conflict did not reach the “existential and sectarian” cleansing method pursued by the Houthi group in Yemen during this period against the Sunni tribes in the north, through the bombing of mosques and Quran houses belonging to it.

After the Houthis’ appetite was opened by the fall of large areas in northern Yemen into their hands since the beginning of January 2014, when they managed to expel the students of Dammaj Center - the stronghold of the Salafist call; The group felt the euphoria of victory in the shadow of a lax state unable to protect its center of rule in the capital, Sanaa. The Houthi group presented a new model in managing the conflict with its opponents, which is to overthrow and control areas and then obliterate the features of any opponent’s presence in them. Considering that the act of this bombing only reflects the state of hatred raging in the ideology of the Houthi group.

bombing mosques

Instead of the Houthi group welcoming the month of Ramadan by rebuilding mosques, it took advantage of the weakness of Sunni areas by blowing up their mosques; The end of the month of Rajab witnessed several bombings of mosques in the governorates of Dhamar and Amran, where the group blew up a mosque belonging to Dar al-Hadith in the Anas district of Dhamar governorate in central Yemen on the 24th of last Rajab. The destruction of the mosque came after intermittent battles erupted between the Houthis in the area and Sunni tribes. During this period, the group sought to mobilize Houthi gunmen from outside the area, and the matter ended with the bombing of the mosque, killing and displacing many residents of the area.

Despite what the month of Rajab witnessed in terms of the destruction of mosques and the demolition of schools and houses of the Qur’an, these bombings went through a series of bombings targeting Sunni mosques, beginning with the bombing of the Dar al-Hadith mosque in the Kitaf area of Saada governorate, while the Kataf area east of Saada governorate fell to the Houthis on December 28, 2013 Which is 35 km away from it, and close to the Saudi-Yemeni border; On the second day, the Houthi group detonated the Dar al-Hadith mosque with high explosive devices, after it had looted all its property. During the bombing, the Houthis brought cameramen belonging to two Shiite channels, namely: Al-Alam and Al-Manar [1] .

On March 9, 2014, the Houthi group blew up a mosque and a school in Dar Al-Hadith in Al-Sarm district, Hamdan district, north of the capital, Sana’a, after violent clashes erupted between the Houthis and Sunni tribes, and after they took control of the area, the mosque was blown up with a school for memorizing the Qur’an [2] .

After the Houthi group tightened its control over the entire city of Saada, it turned towards Amran governorate - the stronghold of the Hashid tribe, the largest tribe in Yemen. Clashes erupted between the Houthis and the Hashid tribes, and the matter ended with the Houthis falling large areas, including: the Hawth region, which represented the weight of the Hashid tribe.

Since their takeover, the Houthis have begun to bomb mosques, which numbered 13 mosques, namely: Al-Rahman Mosque in Azhar, Al-Farouq Mosque in Danan, Mosque and Dar Al-Hadith in Khaiwan, Al-Hassan bin Ali Mosque in Bani Sarim, Al-Aqili Mosque in Bani Aqil, Al-Rahma Mosque in Huth, Wahas Mosque in Huth, Al-Siddiq Mosque in Al-Khamri, Al-Ahmar Mosque and House for the Memorization of the Qur’an in Al-Khamri, Al-Rahma Mosque in Khamer, Al-Ghoula Mosque in Naqeel Al-Ghoula, Bilal bin Rabah Mosque in Raidah, and Al-Dulai Mosque in Hamadan [3] .

In addition to destroying mosques, the Houthi group deliberately provoked the people of the region and carried out incursions into mosques and imposed its authority by force; At the end of March 2014, Houthi gunmen stormed the Al-Qaoud Mosque in the Bir Ayedh area in Amran governorate, the largest mosque in the area, and prevented people from praying in it, and it was converted into a military barracks [4] .

The bombing of the Quran, schools and homes

The Houthi group did not stop at the bombing of mosques, but continued to demolish the Quran memorization headquarters and other educational schools on the pretext that they were barracks for the “Takfiris,” a pretext it uses to storm the Quran houses and blow them up after the area is controlled; The first bombing operation was carried out when it targeted Dar Al-Quran and the Tariq bin Ziyad School in the Al-Sarm area, 40 kilometers north of Sana'a.

Although the school is governmental, the Ministry of Education was satisfied with its condemnation, saying that the school had 490 students who were enrolled in its classes [5] .

On May 22, 2014, the group blew up Dar Al-Hadith in the Doran Anas district of Dhamar governorate in central Yemen, and it was considered one of the famous centers in the region to teach Islamic sciences to its children. [6] .

On May 23, i.e. the second day, the Houthis blew up a Quran house in Al-Khadra, Amran Governorate, northern Yemen. The area witnessed clashes between the people of the area and the Houthis, and a ceasefire agreement was reached between them. However, the people of the area were surprised by the Houthis’ violation of the agreement and their storming of the area.

During this period, during which the Houthi group targeted mosques and Quran teaching headquarters; The Yemeni government is silent, and it has not been recorded in any position that would limit the aggravation of attacks on mosques.

Transferring conflict to mosques during Ramadan

The month of Ramadan comes every year and the Houthi group creates a struggle in mosques, especially in the northern regions where Houthi followers are spread, as it has been desperate to close mosques after evening prayers and prevent worshipers from performing Tarawih prayers, and they say it is incorrect according to their thought and literature.

During the past year, in the month of Ramadan, a fight took place over the “Green Dome” mosque in the capital, Sana’a, and the Houthi group tried to control it and prevent worshipers from performing Tarawih prayers in it, which led to the outbreak of conflict between them and the people of the region, and despite the government’s attempt to intervene, the mosque is still It is closed until now without the worshipers holding prayers in it.

On the second of Ramadan last year, one of the worshipers was killed after a dispute arose between Sunni and Houthi worshipers over Tarawih prayers in Al Rayyan Mosque in the capital, Sanaa, when Houthi followers forcibly closed the mosque after the evening prayer.

On the 17th of Ramadan of the same year, the conflict intensified between the Houthis and the worshipers in the capital, Sanaa, and the group increased its escalation against Sunni mosques. adjacent to the mosque and was killed in clashes between them and the worshipers [7] .

In the end, it remains that the Houthi group finds that the door is still open for it to undermine the features of the Sunni movement in Yemen by bombing mosques and the role of the Qur’an, which it considers do not express its ideology or doctrine; Because it benefits from the weakness of the state in the northern regions, which are unable to curb the systematic aggression against mosques and the role of the Qur'an of the Sunni movement.

This systematic violence simulates the sectarian cleansing of the Sunnis by the Shiites in Baghdad after its fall in 2003 AD and made it exclusively for the Shiite population, and if the Houthi group continues to displace the Sunnis from their areas in Saada, Amran and other areas and blow up their mosques; This will directly threaten the survival of the Sunni tribes in the short term.

Instead of this making the Emiratis withdraw from Yemen wouldn't this just encourage them to continue their activities against the Shias in that country?
They already bomb and attack them what more can they do? Deport them?

I meant that I read somewhere that the UAE is trying to slowly pull out of the chaos that is Yemen but this Houthi drone strike in Abu Dhabi might make them reconsider that option. They might intensify their actions in Yemen because of this.

Well, it makes some sense if the Houthis did this cos when they threatened attacks on the UAE in 2020 the UAE did start to withdraw and then, when more threats were made, fully withdrew. They've also spent a lot of money on buying air defense systems (like from Israel) and developing their own.

So they're genuinely scared of Houthi attacks and attacking them or threatening to has proven a good detterent. It may even serve to make them fully give up on their machinations in the Gulf of Aden like supporting the Southern Transitional Council and maintaining bases in places like Yemen, Socotra, the Bab al-Mandeb and Berbera.

The UAE lives on tourism and trade nowadays (not oil) and thus their lifeblood is the security they promise ajanabis staying and trading here. The second that security begins to breakdown and the UAE sounds like just another Middle-Eastern bombing site it could mean curtains for these saaxiibs' economy.
