Anything is possible through God, there is nothing wrong with the first part of the statement, the second part of calling on the sheikh is - assigning partners (sheikhs/saints) with Allah is the point he is drilling into his murids, taking them out of the fold of islam and at the mercy of shayadan.
He certainly has no authority over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord.
His authority is only over those who take him as a patron and who—under his influence—associate ˹others˺ with Allah ˹in worship˺.
Al Nahl
Your sheikhs are fallible, call on and put your trust in the immutable and transcendental not the fleeting and transient. They will not nor cannot save you in any capacity and are themselves dependent on God.
