Again, since you said that non-Sufis use violence to convert people (into another sect). Show proof of where that has happened amongst Somalis or refrain from your baseless claims.

Most Somali salafist became more religious on their own. We’ve surely had influence from abroad, not the least through foreign educated sheikhs and media which in turn made us more religious in last decades. But it was not through force.

Though, we might have had some Islamist organizations with authority in Somalia who may have pushed ‘salafism’, but they did not control most of Somalia, nor the rest of Somaliweyn, who all are very religious today. Some even willingly leaving behind Sufism.

Most Sufis really aren't that different from other Shafi'i Muslims, except for occasionally doing dhikr or celebrating mowlid. The difference is hugely overstated.

People talk like the difference between salafi and sufi Somalis is as big as the one between Sunni and Shia.
