And that's why westerners are mad at African population growth. The population of Africa doubling and major population decline in Europe, Usa and China will give africans room to breath. Practically most of the worlds population growth will be concentrated in africa this century. This means africa will host most young people -> the innovators and more workers. Rest of the worlds is becoming older especially Europe and China. We might see them decline ( in my opinion they are declining especially mediterranian countries).
While population increase is not the magic trick to becoming a developed country, it will drasticly alter the reality at the ground. African nations need to harness there human capital and industrialise. This is the key.

China was very poor but still had growing population until the one child policy.
Africa is a cursed continent, probs will still be the poorest region maybe it might usurp South America or South Asia
Regardless I need to invest stocks in shea butter and weave
There was a time Romans said that about Britain, Germany, etc. The tables have since completely turnedMaybe when pigs fly will Africa amount anything... Population boom combined with marginal economic growth typically leads to economic stagnation. I worry more if pop growth goes unchecked a malthusian nightmare happening.
Im not in the business of waiting 1200 yrs. There was a time Romans said that about Britain, Germany, etc. The tables have since completely turned
World wasn't globalised nor industrialised then, therefore exchanges of ideas were a much slower process. With modern technology, entire societies can change within a span of a few decadesIm not in the business of waiting 1200 yrs.

Population boom is guaranteed, that much is certain. The UNPD's 1998 revision projected sub-Saharan Africa's population in 2050 at 1·52 billion; this projection was revised to 1·75 billion in 2008 and 2·12 billion in 2019, it's actually more than the projections initially expectedAutomation is going to take over well before Africa gets it's shit together.
Population boom isn't guaranteed either... Urban households in Africa are having less kids and the trend is heading down.
Still even if the GDP increases to 3-5 trillion+ ... most of that will go towards informal subsistence transactions or to multinationals and corrupt politicians.
No culture of free markets in Africa that we could take advantage of.
the GDP of sub-Saharan Africa in 2000 was estimated at 400 billion USD. 20 years later it was estimated at 1.7 trillion USD. That is more then 4 times growth in just 20 years.
Sub-Saharan Africa population is growing fast it is estimated by 2050 the population will double and Africa will have almost 3 billion people. it is also said every 2 years Africa increased its population by adding 67 million people, that is like adding France every 2 years
Africa’s population will double by 2050
But the education of more African girls means it might peak sooner than most people expectwww.economist.com
So why is sub Saharan Africa important? it is very simple population increase+ economical growth = a huge middle class.
the middle class of sub saharan africa by 2050 would be over 250 million people. While Europe population will decrease by 44 million in 2050
if the current economical trend continues the economy of sub Saharan Africa by 2050 should be 10 trillion dollars and that is a very conservative number the real number should be close to 20 trillion dollars, that is USA economy of 2020.
Automation is going to take over well before Africa gets it's shit together.

Automation will help africa. It means highly skilled workforce is not required but at the same time the money will circulate within africa as the products will be manufactured inside africa.
Also yes, we will go from 7 people per household to 5 people per household. However what you are not considering is that child mortality will also be a lot lower as medicine and hospitals is more widely available.
Thus population increase will continue and some experts put the gdp of africa at 29 trillion in 2050 so the 20 trillion us actually conservative number.
Very interesting calculations. Except we will be DEAD by the time Africa gets its act together, getting away from poverty !
Automation might be delayed in africa due to excess human population. It might be cheaper to hire people then buy expensive machines. Also transportation is not going to be automated anytime soon or construction, both huge fields that employ a lot of people.Automation is going to take over well before Africa gets it's shit together.

Do you mean it will take more then 30 years? Or ww3 will happen by then?
