It seems you missed what was trying to convey, I'm not against men paying for marriage to wife good Muslim women, even though in Islam it doesn't say the responsibility of marriage finance falls solely on men but still Islam has sets of rules, giving the women her role and men theirs. Now getting to the Strong, Independent Women, when I say those 3 words what I mean is the western raised loud women who proclaim they don't need men by deeming religion patriarch and anything that assign each gender their roles, yet still need men, demand men to pay for marriage.

Aussie, This issue is not about me it's general scenario especially geared more so the western Somali women that scream "S men ain't shit" We're independent Strong women, but expect men to pay for their wedding.

Because it’s an abstract. There’s no actual woman in question that this is directed towards that can be judged on whether she’s independent or not, hence you’re fighting a concept.

In my express opinion, Somali community is not at a stage where the women should be paying for their weddings. They are paying for everything else at a staggering percentage.
