I've been wrestling with the idea of state owned comapanies take charge of the natural resourse of somalia. I think it will calm down the reluctant desire of the public shown towards foreign private companies lurking about.

So my suggesting is, the federal goverment of somalia should build state owned companies that are assigned to the natural resourses of the country like oil, uranium, etc.

These entities' power share should be shared just like the country. There should a and office in every federal state for employment reason and to please the monkey like nature of the inhabitants of the land. But the headquorter should be in the mogadishu. This, ofcourse, isn't my ideal situation, i'm more into the idea of meritocracy.

I also intend this to not be permenant solution. This should work as a foundation for our economy. If - its a big motherfucking if - and when country gets into stable mode, those companies should be privatised on one condition - it should only be in the hands of a somali. The idea behind these entities is to protect our natural resources from foreigners.

I repeat this again, the ultimate goal is a private owned companies by a somali not barre-esque situation where every entity in the country is owned by the goverment.

State owned companies have serious corruption issues. Corrupt countries, and Somalia is the mother of all corruption, should have a very small government. State owned companies make the government only bigger.

It's a good idea at the beginning to stimulate economic growth. Eventually the private sector would take over & the government should sell shares. The best in business is having P3 project ,public-private-partnerships.

And you think both foreign and "domestic" powers will allow this to happen?:mjlol:

Besides the only resources found in the 1/4 of Mogadishu run by the FGS are caambulo and explosives:pachah1:

Also, lmao you should have posted this in the general sectio and worded the thread as a question if you wanted replies :ftw9nwa:

I understand your pain. I make great content here yet my threads never go platinum. These people don't value high quality threads :francis:

There’s videos going around of people claiming Puntland sold the entire mountains of Bari to Saudi Arabia and South African country.

It’s the typical fake news propaganda that Qaasayes love to Qaas. Take random raw resource images from google, find images of ministers standing next to ajibnabis and upload a voice over that loops the fucking same 5-8 Images.

Every Gobol needs a “Nacaas free zone” where people take IQ tests before residing and doing business in the “Aqli Zone”. We have along way to in changing the cultural mindset.

Gobol Owned Companies would be great.

You need to have dedicated business news channels in Puntland. The people need to see what transparency is all about. When you watch BNN in Canada or Bloomberg, they bring on guest from many companies industries to discuss what is going on with peoples investments.

If we can build investment culture in Puntland, they people will get that “Ahaah” moment and start investing in companies they believe are managed properly.

I can’t speak for other gobols, but Puntland needs to put a focus on business education through a dedicated TV station.

You are right about the corruption part. I guess the ideal me sort of imagined post corruption somalia scenario. Given the nature of the country and its collectivism sociaty, i dont think a shared wealth would do any harm.

If you were a man of honour you would have referenced it to me, because that's my theory on how to get a platinum thread.

UAE for example operated mainly on Government owned oil companies. Such as ADNOC & ADGAS. These were owned by the abu dhabi emirate, and they'd use revenues to fund projects in the poor emirates(Fujaira, al ayn, ajmaan..), Even until today those poorer regions are wealthy because of government subsidies granted to every emirate citizen. When the time was right, the government focused on developing ports & not relying mainly on oil/gas.

Emirates is a good example to take from. Not holistically, but for the most part.

Yeah, in the long run it should be sort of semi-private. First thing gov should lay the foundation of these entities.
