I was looking at google maps and noticed this

Apparently the amxar have a church in godey

they even held a service there in september

here is some some information from a local somali resident of the town

i never knew they can have churches this deep into DDSI

It’s normal when you are under occupation to have churches, there is still a church in Kismaayo and the one in Xamar from during the Italians.

I Hope one day Somali Galbeed will be free either independent or as a province of Somalia, I think it will be our generation that will do it one day.

i know they got churches on border cities like jigjiga lakiin this deep into DDSI is crazy, the occupation is worse than I thought.

Godey is part of Ethiopia. Just as there are mosques in Gondar and Bahr Dar, there are churces in Godey and Jigjiga. In a multi-ethnic and multi-religious country you can't prevent people building their places of worship

There are also churches in wajale, dhegahbur and kebridehar check google maps

There are several churches in Kismayo. The one at the airport within the Kenyan ATMIS base with the huge Christian cross and Kenyan flag was the creepiest. It made me very uncomfortable.
