Btw out of all Muslim communities I generally believe us Somalis are the least affected by Liberal values, we definitely gave our faults but we tend to hold conservative values.

People are going to be affected by their environment, there is a reason behind the wisdom of Hijra and leaving Darul-Kufr. I don’t think the minority of women in our community in the diaspora are feminists due to their counterparts oppression and the word oppression is seen different from person to person.

Ignorance and lack of application of our deen us why the Muslim ummah is the way it is. Female issues are important, but we need to focus on the reason why both some men and women fail in their responsibilities that they have, whether it be the rights Allahbhas over them, their spouse, siblings, parents it children, it’s simply because of their lack of knowledge and/or lack of implementation of knowledge (taqwa).

This is Prophet advised us to look at a persons deen and akhlaq when looking for marriage. Even if he doesn’t like his wife he’ll give her rights because he fears Allah, and a righteous wife is one of the greatest blessings Allah can bestow upon you in this world according to the Hadiths of the Prophet peace be upon him.

Honestly, I hardly see Somali diaspora complain about feminism in real life, MashaAllah those that are Somali who give dawah in the west tend to talk about many topics.

Just to point I noticed we’re not very quick to put ourselves out there, we still have the mentality of studying Islam for many years before going on YouTube and giving Dawah which I like Alhamdulilaah.
