My colleagues at work talked me into taking part in culture week, and folks are coming in with all sorts of cultural clothing. How do I represent my inner geeljire? So far, I know a long shaal and kofi/cimamad are a must. No idea what else, though.

I need some outfit ideas

If you are an older person stick with your shaal and maybe take a professional looking macawiis. Because younger person dheer iyo xoog leh he herds xoolada and looks better with robes. But older person is sheekh govener and involves himself in the more respectable and classy odaynimo governance roles such as corruption and nepotism

Go in with early history clothing prior to Islam like ancient land of Punt as depicted by ancient egyptians, a white cloth in the same fashion 5000 years ago when U were a civilization and your colleagues were neaderthals or denisovans if Asian or mid eastern.

U can wear this too, a respected aristocrat(of soldier class this one) clothing

U can try this youth attire

As for Kofi we only have the elder one and the turban one(not ugly hindi style either) or U can wear your ancient egyptian head dress which Europe stole also

Those kind of clothing is pretty much extinct. It's worn on rare occasions like an official clan shir. Somali cultural clothing is khamiis and abaya now.

It's pretty said qof aan dhaqan lahayn that is unique or else their just another rat among mainstream rat race and a commoner and die a commoner death and be no different to the gravel or dirt or dust eventually that U blow off your face. They tend to look ugly when not in cultural clothes I've noticed and look freaky to me.
