I want to welcome all of you to the 1st and inagural nationstates nation building fixtures for our forum members.

I would like our contenders to first make an account at nationstates.net

After that - please post a link to your nation state after having created it. Contenders will only be eligible using a single newly created nationstate that is created today.

In order to verify the time of creation (of the account) - please post a screenshot of the activity page by clicking on national happenings (right below your national description) so it's time of creation can be confirmed. Do remember this can be verified by an 2nd party if the need and suspicion arises.

The contest will take place over 6 days -with its close on Friday, March the 20th 6 PM West Greenland Standard Time (9 PM UK - 2 PM Seattle), we will announce our winners 13 hours after it's close.

In order to win, the contender must:

1) achieve both military (highest total war preparedness ranking) and economic dominance (average income + level of development).

The winning score (SSNS index) will be calculated by the formula as follows:

(total war preparedness ranking x .50) + ((avg. Income x .50) + (level of development x. .50) x .50) = score

If there is a tie, a tie-breaker formula will be calculated as follows:

(Population x .20) + ((total war preparedness ranking x .50) + (arms industry % world ranking x # countries) x .50)) + ((income per head x .50) + (level of development x .50)) = score

I will not be doing your calculations - contenders will make sure to post their own scores using the winning score formula (SSNS index) with accompanying screenshots of:

1) total war preparedness ranking

2) average income

3) level of development

This will be then ranked by consensus, with a taking of all the SSNS index scores and ranking them.

The enormous, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Education, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 70.3%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The basket case Phoeniahian economy, worth 32.4 billion Links a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector is led by the Cheese Exports industry, with major contributions from Pizza Delivery, Tourism, and Book Publishing. Average income is 6,483 Links, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Phoeniah's national animal is the Martial eagle, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.
