Just to clarify these are Ogaadeen from Ceel-Berde district on Somali-Ethio border. Rx dont speak in this dialect.

There has been no census done on qabiils so I cant tell you the number. Most RXs look like the average Somali saaxib. Most of us are actually quite tall if not average height. Apart from our Bantu members you cant tell us apart from any other somali qabiil.
The accent these guys are speaking is the Mirifle Maay dialect. The Bantus usually speak Digil accent which is different. Even within Mirifle there are different variations of Maay. For example Eelaay speaks different to rxs in Bakool.
Maay has many sub dialects. There are many unadmixed Raxanweyn who speak a very strict form of Maay. The Maay they speak on tv is heavily Somalized, when they speak to each other you can't understand
Af Maay should be encouraged and protected. I believe it's the purest ancient form of Af soomaali. I like the fact RX speak their language on live tv interviews, i believe most Maay speakers are fluent in maxaa tiri.

Also I've noticed even the reer baadiye who only speak Maay have zero issue understanding maxaa tiri, probably because of media.
There has been a lot of fighting against the Af Maay language from the 60s till now. But alx through time tv stations have been opened and other medias.
There are some monolingual Af Maay speakers. I cant say a percentage but some struggle with Af Maxaa like Aadan madoobe the speaker of the goverment. Most Raxanweyns learnt Af maxaa back in 70s before that majority where monolingual. But today Af Maay has been developed and I hope it is more developed in the future.
