Is it not Wonderful we are not FREE?
Free to be wild,
Free to be miserable,
To Suffer, because of our SINS?
To be in danger, and breakable,
Free to be FREE??
We want FREEDOM!
Can we handle this FREE FOR ALL?
Is it not Wonderful we are not FREE?
Above us reigns KING OF KINGS?
Who cares and loves us unrestrained,
To watch over us?
To set morals for us?
To not be apathetic?
And prevent us from being Pathetic?
Glory be to God- Allaah swt!

This beautiful poem (not mine) has been in the back of my head, want to share it..

I looked at people with critical eye,
And found fault in everyone,
I looked at myself with critical eye,
And found goodness in everyone.

I gazed longingly at blessing people possessed,
And became unhappy,
I began to gaze at the blessings I possess,
And became forever grateful.

I waited for people to greet me,
And became haughty,
I greeted people first,
And became humble.

I expected people to forgive me,
And became arrogant,
I began to forgive people,
And became compassionate.

I thought others blameworthy,
And my ego inflated,
I believed myself to be blameworthy,
And my conscious responded.

I watched those who thrive for dunya,
And became complacent,
I watched those who thrive for deen,
And became productive.

I looked towards the worldly folks to emulate,
And lost myself,
I looked towards the God fearing people,
And found myself.

I looked for a middle road in life,
And found it in Islam,
I searched for peace everywhere,
And found it in the remembrance of God
.
