Yeah, you are right I think it has to do with the stigma surrounding being dark skinned.. It's the same with dark skinned women, they don't like dark skin men and would chase light skin men.... This is why we are having a bleach epidemic in our community.

A lot of revert white Muslim women know they are fetishised for their white skin and that men are in a long queue for them (mostly Pakistanis and Arabs) to marry them as soon as they take the shahada. You’ll hear horror stories how they are used to pay for everything and yet expected to be a traditional housewife and most of them don’t even know their Islamic rights. I personally find the classic Somali caramel color beautiful. With that said I find the Somali features really beautiful regardless of skin color.. I think our features especially on girls/women is what makes us a unique ethnic group. And that's why I'm attracted to Somali women.

There is an English revert who has asked some sisters to be introduced to a man but her one condition was that he must be a European white revert. She said this is a reasonable expectation due to her parents who are not happy she has become Muslim and she doesn't want to anger them more in the future. She will pick the deen over her parents but not a husband over her parents as well. But I think she's lying. She has no reason to become Muslim other than her being sincere so I believe her intentions to Islam but I believe she is the racist, not her parents. She has already become Muslim so what does it matter if she married a non white Muslim. Since when do white people need their parent's blessings?
