If Somaliweyn actually happened and Somalia was still a federal republic. How would the map of FMS look like? Which regions would join existing FMS and which ones would join together to create new ones and how do you think the balance of power would shift in the country?

I don’t see it happening our lifetime. When they started naming new centers last month in Ethiopia. I saw how bad people want governance even somalia border regions vying to be incorporated

this is like 470 million usd budget for region, they get more bang for buck having more robust institutions. This stability and governance more likely we lose out to Ethiopia than vice versa

Not to downplay his achievements but the Somali region is poorer and less developed than pretty much anywhere in Somalia save for the deep south, and this is mainly in Jigjiga. It will take decades for DDS to match what Somaliland and Puntland has and we know how volatile Ethiopian politics can be so the Somali region may see itself attacked again.

Context is important. Until 2018 DDS was a warzone. What is currently happening is a great achievement of the Somalis there but I wouldn't call it more stable than anywhere in Somalia save for koonfur

Somalia should focus in uniting with Puntland let alone Somali galbeed. There's no point going back and forth if Somalia isn't even close to having a normal leader.

They're allocated a budget similar to PL despite having like double the population. Ethiopia isn't doing anything for them. Just building lamp posts in Addis Ababa.
