PRIZES:
- Winner will receive a $100 USD Amazon gift card, custom tags, and other forum perks.
- Runner-up will receive a $50 USD Amazon gift card, custom tags, and other forum perks.
- Players who qualify for the semi-finals will receive custom tags.
RULES:
- Players must confirm match time at least 24 hours prior to the match. The player who is unable or unavailable to do so will forfeit the match.
- Matches will be played on lichess. Players must share the link on this thread so other members can watch the game.
- Players must not be more than 15 minutes late to a match or their opponent will be declared the winner and advance to the next round.
- Match dates can be exchanged as long as all 4 players consent.
- Whoever is leading in pieces by 55 minutes is declared the winner. If the game is drawn same pieces by 55 mins mark then another 55 mins will be added. Whoever is leading in pieces is declared winner.
- Time control: If opponent does not make a move within 10 minutes, he or she is automatically disqualified. 10 minutes is more than enough to think wisely and make a good move.
- Cheating: all cheating concerns must be addressed privately with either @angelplan or @Admin. If it is proven that a player is cheating, they will be disqualified from the tournament.
This weekend we will begin with the qualifying round. Members who participated in last year's tournament and the winner of the 2020 chess tournament have automatically advanced to the second round.
