Islam does not = Arab. I'm tired of Horners equating Islam to Arabs. We were Muslim even before most Arabs!

While we don't exactly know how Islam spread to Somalis, we do know for certain that Somalis, along with the Sudanis and Ethios-Eris, were among the first followers of Islam. The first being the Gulf Arabs, of course.

Somalis, Sudanese, Ethiopians and Eritreans became Muslim long before the Turks, Persians and White Arabs (Lebanese, Algerians, Egpyptians, Syrians, Tunisians, Libyans, etc) became Muslim. They only became Muslim after they were conquered and Arabized by the real Arabs (Saudis, Yemenis, Emiratis, etc).

We were also Muslim long before the South Asians. Because let's not forget, Pakistanis, Indian and Bangladeshi Muslims are basically Hindus that converted to Islam cenuries ago. This is something all of us should take pride in! We were among the first people's that Allah chose to bless with Islam!
