This is my stance. No foreigner cares for FGM in Somalia like that. This is Somali buisness. Ajnabis only use it against us to berate us. Somalis sharing these stories to foreigners makes no sense. If they aren’t the doctor doing revisions they don’t need to know.

That's actually an old European medieval practice. The Lord of the land would do that when the peasants on his land got married and all the way up the feudal system's hierarchy. This is actually how the Muslims were able to over throw the vandals in Spain. The king took all the noble mens daughters under his care and violated them before they got married off. You're a very gullible young girl. The world is a very dark and messy place and the Somali lands are on the top of that list. Women were also regularly kidnapped by rival neighbouring clans and forced to marry. Are you going to deny that too? My own paternal ayeyo was kidnapped by my awowo. She fell in love with him 5 years later.

The father told his wife never to think of doing that practice on his 3 daughters. She did. He came home found it and broke all her bones and divorced her on the spot.

The thing that surprises me the most that that people say that the town will bully/ humiliate you if you don't do this procedure. How tf do people even know if you got it done or not?!is gossip so strong in somalia that people even know what the hell is going on in a woman's privates?!
Im not sure but my grandparent didn’t have it done and they were born in the 1930s/1940s. There’s a reason for this but I don’t wanna dox myself or put personal family info out but just trust. Plus Bantus and cadcads pretty much never do it.
I think if you live in baadiyo all the children of similar age boys and girls probably get it done the same time. I highly doubt you’ll get bullied though, like I said my grandmother was married and had kids.
