It doesn't even make any sense. How can you despise an entire gender segment of your own ethnicity?

People are individuals. Neither an individual's achievements or shortfalls sas anything about you as a person, or any other individual.

You had a father right? Or was he just never around? If that's the case, I hope you know there are Somali men out there who have been there for their families, and have gone through hell and back to keep them safe and happy.

Your experience and understanding of Somali men carries no weight aside from your own singular experience.

If you want to do something, be a positive force. Defend Somali men and encourage good values. Uphold the individuality of Somali men and women, and don't fall for the trap of those who want to take that away from you and label you as a monolyth.

I will defend Somali men when the following things happens

1. They stop chewing khaat
2. They take a bigger role in their children’s lives
3. They stop cheating on their wives
4. They stop trying to control women
5. They allow women to be in positions of power
6. They stop encouraging fgm
7. They take on household roles
8. They stop shaming women

I commend you for those expectations, but there are plenty of us men who fully support you on those demands. You have to see us as an ally, we only have each other as Somalis. No one else cares, wallahi. The world doesn't like us, and why should it like us when we don't like each other? They will abuse our women and degrade our men. This is the fundamental goal of all warfare.

The most basic form of love and respect is between men and women, and we need to respect this bond. We have to magnify whatever good we do and bury the bad.

Spare your words and efforts to cover the good things Somalis do. And there is plenty of good that they do.

Horta you are so easily triggered. Not every somali man takes khat the same way not every white guy drinks alcohol.
