It was never ours to begin with. The Natives of Socotra are Arabians and has historically been ruled from Arabian polities.
As for your suggestion to annex the island, there's no need for that. Instead of making the entirety of Yemen our enemy, just support the right faction within Yemen to win the Civil War aka the Sunni Southerners so they can rule over the island and we can make favourable deals with them.

I can't believe I am actually agreeing with you for the first time. Today, you seem reasonable. Somalis never ruled Socotra. Geographical proximity to an island doesn't prove the island belongs to you.

The natives of socotra are not Arabians. They are thier own group of high Natufian Dna. Somalis are pure cushites and more Natufian than those indo Europeans in Yemen. We should take that island. It's closer to our shores and has large maratime borders with it.
