Somalis in the west

Is just me or Somalis in the west are becoming less religious? Like I find religious Arabs a lot from countries like Palestine and Egypt more than Somalis.

Somalis, in general, are going the other way especially those that are in their early 20's to late '20s. When they reach these ages they start to rebel and explore their true selves, some become really weird like cadaan like lol

And I have noticed there are more religious Somali guys than Somali girls.

Anyone else notice this as well?

I disagree on the notion that Somali Men are more religious than the Women. This is because the religious Somali Men are more vocal on social media such as Twitter , Discord and other ciyaal suuq platforms. Somali Women tend to be less visible online as religious but at least in the UK I have met more Conservative/Liberal Ex-Muslim Somali Men rather than women who stick to Islam. I feel it is a small minority of Somali Women who are not interested in Islam or only practice Islam in name . The Women though are more Liberal than the Males as they are more accepting and supportive of Issues such as BLM,LGBTQ and Stop Asian Hate etc. But overall I think only a small minority a rebelling and becoming Atheist/Agnostic or God Forbid Any other Abrahamic Religions.

It's not that strange, at that age people tend to have a stable job and no longer live at home, so if they were only practising for social reasons (i.e. munafiqs) then they don't have a reason to pretend anymore.

I’ve become more liberal because my future will be most likely working around ajnabis.
Outer self = liberal
My inner self is my true self values that I don’t tell people lol but I remind myself of my values the end of every 10 days.

lol I can relate with this so much but it’s much deeper than that. It’s why ima heading over to Somalia as my permanent residence in the future. Juggling 2 ways of lives has takin a toll on many Muslims in the west.

I won’t consider myself a munafiq lol. Just an anxious confused young Muslim who is tryna make it in the west whilst not being a perfect Muslim.

I’m now religious but I went through a rebellious Wiccan/agonist/New age phrase, though . My dad actually became more religious and conservative.

I can see that my dad and grandpa were very religious compared to other Americans and even other Catholics.

Not true most of my Somali friends are very religious, there’s also a lot of practicing Somali guys but they’re not as serious as the girls.
