Are there any Somalis in Eritrea? If there is, what do we know about them?

There's no actual Somali community in Eritrea. The Somalis in Eritrea usually live in camps. The ones that managed to imrove their lives in the cities probably fled and joined the rest of the Somali diaspora.

The former Somali president sheikh sharif and his gang once had their headquarter in Eritrea.. That's the only Somalis I know of who have lived there.

Ethiopia is host to some 257,000 Somali refugees.

That's a lot, I didn't know we had that many refugees in Ethiopia.

The reason for few Somalis in Eritrea is because its a unstable country and a north Korean state ruled by a dictator they were banned by the United nations along with Korea for human rights abuses


Meanwhile Ethiopia is more stable and Eritrea is where people immigrate from

Eritrea is quite stable and peaceful actually. It's just that the gov is too secretive AKA theres only 1 newspaper (controlled by the gov) and phone calls are tapped. Eritrea has developed quite a lot in education and healthcare.

Living in Eritrea is like living in North Korea. Life is terrible, all the young people are in the military and outsiders will get shot if they try to cross the borders.

There aren’t any migrants from neighboring countries for a reason. If the society was like Sudan, Ethiopia or Djibouti then no doubt there will be 1000s of Somalis, Sudanese, Yemenis and Ethiopians etc in the country like in the old times before they moved back to their country because of the war.

There are original Somali there the Gadafur Saho who are originally Gadabursi
