Anyone know of Somali families in the Boston JP area and the Portland Maine area I’m trying to find my Aabbo my reer

1.a first or second cousin on 23@me but lost the phone with the account and her number She moved from Portland to Minnesota in 2015
2.Only name I’ve got Is Hassan
3.he was about 23 in 2000

Have you asked your hooyo or even your upti's. Your upti would most likely know where your abo would because he would be is too due to him taking over your abo responsibility

Don’t have a Hooyo she was a caddaan who gave me up to the adoption system as a baby once she got me away from my Aabbos family, So I’ve had to figure everything out as I got older. Only Thing I got from her was the one name Hassan and his age when I was born and his family was in both Portland and JP. Im probably gonna have to get another DNA test bc I lost the phone that had my account and the cousins name parents name and number we originally matched on 23@me

Your cousin would be helpful but you can find your dad out in other ways in the meantime. Somalis have a strong grapevine; I figured out who one woman's dad was 35 years later thanks to my uncle who knew him and we weren't even close on the list or actually related.

Even though your cousin is Majerteen doesn't necessarily mean you're Majerteen. But every Somali I heard of from Boston back then ended up being a Majerteen so it's probably the case. I don't really know about Maine but likely a mix of Darod and Somali Bantus.

Try to find out when he graduated and which high school he may have went to so you can get his full name. Or contact Boston and Portland Somali organizations directly to find out. However, I find that alot of them are organized by recent refugees and wouldn't know your dad. You need to find a way to reach out to the older generation Somali dads in Boston and Portland who lived there for a while if they haven't moved.
